Safeguarding Youth
Guidance for Packs
The minimum leadership requirements for any Cub Scout unit
attending Cub Adventure Camp is a ratio of two adults to a maximum of eight youth and one additional adult for each four youth (or part thereof). Each pack must have at least one leader with current Hazardous Weather Training and one leader with current BALOO Training. It is recommended that all Cubs in a Pack participate with a parent or guardian; parents who attend with their youth do not need to be registered BSA adult leaders, but they do need to complete Youth Protection Training at My.scouting.org. Cubs may tent with their parent or legal guardian as outlined in Scouting’s Barriers to Abuse. Tiger and Lion Cubs must have a parent or guardian adult partner to participate in the program.
Guidance for Families
Each youth attending without a unit must have a parent or guardian partner to participate; parents who attend with their youth do not need to be registered BSA adult leaders, but they do need to complete Youth Protection Training at My.scouting.org. Cubs may tent with their parent or legal guardian as outlined in Scouting’s Barriers to Abuse. Families attending with multiple Cub-age siblings require only one parent.

Broad Creek's Commitment to Safeguarding Youth
Before participating in any program, please observe Scouting's Barriers to Abuse and the Guide to Safe Scouting.
